The labs of Safety-Hygiene of Foods and Drinks, Wood and Furniture Technology, and Animal’s Drug Development , are accommodated in the A’ floor of the “Regional Centre of Quality Control of Cotton Standardization” Building in Karditsa city. Specifically, approximately free 600 square meters of the Building have been granted to ITEMA for a period of ten years including an amphitheatre of 450 seats (on the ground floor). In the Α’ floor of the Building in Karditsa one office space and three laboratories have been allocated for the Wood and Furniture Technology lab while for the Department of Veterinary one office space has been allocated and five laboratories. Also, ITEMA (Institute of Technology and Management of Agricultural Ecosystems) includes one office space for Administrative Secretary, one office space for the Director of ITEMA which will probably serve as a meeting room and one space serves as a call center. In addition, the ground floor includes a lobby, a reception desk and a cafeteria, and the greater part of the ground floor hosts part of the N.AG.RE.F (National Agricultural Research Foundation) The rest three labs (Agriculture Engineering and Environment, Integrated and Organic crop production and Agro-informatics are housed in the premises of the Technological Park of Thessaly in Volos city together with IMTRONICS and the Central Admission of CERETETH. For the purposes of this Department there are two laboratory spaces of 40 square meters each, as well as an office space and appropriate space for the research and administrative staff. Facilities of these Labs are also located in the experimental farm of the University of Thessaly in Velestino. The experimental farm was selected due to the strong association with the University’s Department of Agronomic Science and the possible collaboration and partnerships that such a union will bring.
